Im trying to program my Philips remote to my RCA. But when I looked up instructions on how to program it, the first step is to hold down "Code Search" button. But I can not find it on the remote. Is it under another name such as "setup" or "menu" buttons?

there is usuall no actual "code search" button, its usually the power button or the device button. check your manual for the remote where it describes the different buttons. In most cases, you will hold down the device you want to program till the lights flash, and then either enter in a code from the book and press a certian button (like the device again or the # button) or press the power button over and over till your devices truns off, then press a certian button (like the devices or # button).

Universal remotes connect to about 95% of devices. Some just don't connect. If you've properly run through the search and it didn't find your TV, you might just be unlucky.

What exact model of remote do you have?
