Somehow I must have pressed a button that turned on closed captioning on my TV. I have Direct TV and it's the same remote for both the TV and the cable box. I tried pressing the yellow button on the remote, but all that came up was View Previous Channels and Change Favorites List. And when I go to System Setup -> Display, there is nothing about subtitles or CC. Help!

On High-Definition receivers, select “Captioning” to turn closed

captioning on or off, and to select the font style, size and color for the

display of captions.

Displays an on screen transcription of a program’s soundtrack.

Select “DIRECTV Subtitling” or “Closed Captioning” to toggle it ON or

OFF. Both options display the same text so only one or the other can

be “ON” at a time. The display format is the only difference so check

out both to determine your preference.

it depends sometimes on what you watch.... when the show starts you see on the top left the rating of the show like ( Y7,G,PG,PG13,M) on the top right if you see a CC sign that means (Closed Caption) it supports closed caption but if it doesnt well you wont see words... or probably your tv doesnt support closed caption
