I know that a CI Module is a slot for putting in a card to pay for subscription channels such as 'Sky Sports' for example, but how do you know what exactly you're looking for for an LG Freeview TV if you wanted to get one?

I mean, how do they fit, are they all the same or do you have to buy specific CI Module's for specific models & TV's? Are all CI Modules all the same & will any CI Module fit any TV? I know nothing about them other than that they are the card slot reader things, how would I get my LG Freeview TV set up so I can then subscribe to Sky Sports for example?

As far as I know CI/CAM/PCMCIA are all the same fit i.e a CI modules actually fits itno a PCMCIA slot.

i.e all Cam should work with all CI slots.

A CI Module takes a viewing card

However the modules tend to be branded/issued by the people who sell the cards.

Whether any cards will work in any CI I don't know

In anycase you need to decide who you want to buy your programs from.

As far as I know in the UK the only terrestrial broadcasters who you can pay (via a viewing card rather than special hardware) is top up TV. See their help
