Yes...that would be one to avoid!

Most likely it was a display model kept on for endless hours...and set to the highest contrast and resolution so customers could see it.

It also could of been left on 24hrs. a day by employees who forgot to turn it off!

I got a good deal on Samsung LCD 37" closeout from last years model....make sure the box is factory sealed and never opened or tampered with.

Not only did it get more wear and tear, it has been in demo mode for God only knows how long. Which means it has been set to a brighter setting to compensate for the bright lighting in the store. When you buy an LCD or Plasma Tv, the first thing it asks of you during setup is whether it is for home or demo. I hope you got a great deal on it, it may not last long, but like all things created, it may last longer than expected too. I equate all things to life, they die when their imperfections cause them to do so. In the case of your TV, It has run a marathon for the first portion of it's life, and now you get to see how well it was built.

If it was a demo you should have paid about 1/2 the regular price of the tv. It's been on about 18 hours a day for a year, so it's gotten a bunch more wear and tear than you'd give it in your house. People have played with the settings, etc., etc.

So if you paid regular or near regular price and they told you it was new, take it back and get a new one. If you bought it as a used unit and you got a great price and it looks OK to you, keep it.
