I just installed sky hd, I removed all the connections from the old sky plus box and put them in exactly the same slots at the back of the sky hd box. I now get glorious hd on my main tv but.. my tv's upstairs which received all the channels no worries now dont get anything but fuzzy screens. All since I installed the new hd box.

Can anyone throw some light on this for me please. I tried using the old scart lead which is not needed for hd but that made no difference either, totally mystified here.

if you have connected a magic eye to the hd box via the second rf out,its prob why you have no picture.it has to be engaged to send a powered signal through the rf.you have to do this in the service engineers menu.check the forums for the code

Here goes - all will go well unless you want your dish up higher like on the chimney (ours had to be chimney mounted so the signal could get over the trees). If they turn up and find they have to go on the roof, they'll say they're not insured to go that high and will refer you to a "special heights team" (contractor) to do it instead which means you have to wait another week or 2. They only usually drill 1 hole in each room that you're having it installed in. This is in the outside wall and the satellite cable goes through it. They also put a plastic ring down the length of the cable and stick it to the wall to tidy up the hole. They should run all the cable for the phone under doors and up the wall and tack it to the skirting board to keep it tidy. If you're having Sky+ take out the warrenty on it - the boxes are crap quality, they keep breaking down (we're on our 5th or 6th one, I lost count) so you might have to keep getting it replaced. The original Sky box is still going after 5 and half years though, so they're ok.

I don't know about Sky, but I do know that some satellite systems don't allow you to have more than two TVs at the same time running HD. Maybe Sky only allows one at a time. The problem is that HD requires so much bandwidth that one HD channel takes up the same bandwidth as several standard def channels.

What are you using to connect the sky HD to your upstairs TV sets?

I'm having a problem with no sound, I'm using video senders I got pictures though.

In another room I'm using a cable running from the RF outlet with magic eye to change channel that's working fine.
