Plasma has the brightest and most vivid picture, but is fairly expensive per inch and somewhat vulnerable to burn-in. Plasma also has a history of losing color vibrancy the fastest, but many newer screens last long enough that the color will still be great when you replace it (unless you hold onto TVs for a long, long time).

LCD is the most expensive per inch, has the least problems from burn-in. Medium brightness. I'm pretty sure it uses less power on average than plasma. LCD also doesn't have as much trouble as plasma with color fading over time.

Projection is the least bright and most vulnerable to burn-in, but it's the cheapest per inch. Probably not a good idea if you're into video games.

plasma is gas filled, projection uses lenses and projects onto screen, lcd is liquid crystal display. You have to view them in person and decide which you like best, there are many pros and cons
