You can get an LCD or an LED in a 120Hz model, so that's not really the issue here. What you'll notice is color depth and quality.

I prefer LED TVs to LCD. At my job, I've noticed that LEDs, aside from being thinner and more energy efficient, the picture seems much richer than your typical fluorescent LCD display.

I have an LCD at my house, and I can say that while the colors aren't bad, I much prefer the richness of the darker and brighter colors that I've found on LED sets to LCD displays.

And honestly, LCDs are ever-so-slightly starting to make a retreat. I would say go for an LED tv...that is, if you don't prefer plasma. Plasma sets beat both of these out of the water, as long as you don't leave them paused overnight.

Only you can answer that for yourself. The tangible advantages of an LED-equipped set are easy to tally: less power drain, thinner cabinet with edge-lit models, local dimming with full matrix models, and less likelihood for expensive repairs (no lamps to replace).

It's the intangible differences that make the choice a personal one. Is the picture on all LED sets better than on any conventional LCD set? Hardly. The fact is, you'd be hard-pressed to discern any picture quality difference between two otherwise equal TVs, one a very good conventional LCD and the other one of many LED sets. They have the exact same display, after all, with the only difference being the backlight. If the backlighting on a fluorescent LCD is among the best available, there's scant room for improvement by merely changing the backlight.

There are many who will flatly tell you that the LED picture is better simply because that's what they expect. But that doesn't make it so unless you draw the same conclusion yourself.

LED TV ( LCD-LED BACK-LIGHT ) is RE-FINE of LCD TV. those LCD unable to performs well. LED TV just display it MUCH BETTER.

LED TV much rich in colour display . better in dark / black colour . mush better in contrast ratio.

100/120 HZ refresh rate able to cover well for " motion blur ".use 40 % less energy than LCD.

LED TV ( ref to quality LED TV by International brand , not those cheap Local-house brand ) is very close to Plasma quality and provide smooth pictures.

non of LCD TV are close to prefect.even hi end models.

there must be so call motion blur. even 100/120 or 200/240HZ refresh rate unable to cover that kind of blur .

LCD TV never display pure deep dark / black colour.

^^^^^^^

do not think , " just difference in black light " no big deal. no difference in picture quality.

is totally new display technology. TV maker take 10 years R & D to replace the back light ?

if you looking for QUALITY TV and afforded to paid for. LED TV is worth for that prices.

if you side by side compare LCD / LED TV with same movies. you EYE will select LED TV.

LED TV demand is high and growth fast. consumer are not stupid.

^^^^^^^^^^^

LG LED TV is great, because LG LED IS 8 months behind the LED TV leader Samsung . LG take more time to improve the very fist generational LED display. LG TV always reliable.
