It's for plugging your computer into instead of having a separate monitor in the same room as your TV.

RGB is simply red, green, blue (the three primary light colors) in yrou case you are probably talking about a Cb interface which consists of 3 color cables red, green, and blue also called component cables this is the first standard for HD TV although they were created slightly before the conception of HDTV.

I am assuming you are refering to RGB as in a computer screen.

RGB stands for red, green, blue which are the spectrums of light used in displays. Combination of Red Green & Blue create the entire visual spectrum available on a computer display from white to black and all colors in between.

While CMYK is used in the printing process Cyan (Blue), Magenta (red), Yellow and Black. These 4 colors are combined to reproduce the spectrum in print.

Hope this helps

RGB refers to a signal, normally carried through a scart lead, which is Red Green Blue.

It is miles better the composite, but not so good as component, which can carry a HD signal.

Component video. It splits the picture into its 3 colour channels. Red, green and blue (the primary light colours)

Component video gives a better quality picture in regards to colour and luminance as you are not squashing all the information down one cable as in the case of composite video and has been an industry standard since before I was working in the industry (I'm a video editor and have been for the last 10 years)

Most DVD players now have component output.
