I am trying to look for a 40in. LED TV from Samsung. I cannot tell the difference between the UN40b7000/6000 and the LN40b7000/6000. Can anyone tell be the difference in terms of specs such as contrast ratio, 120/240hz motion engine, and response times between these TV's? I am trying to look for the one with good specs but not going over $2100.

First: There is no LN40B6000 or LN40B7000 in the official 2009 Samsung product line. The official product numbering for the LED HDTVs starts with the initials "UN".

Second: The only 40" LED TV announced by Samsung so far is the UN40B6000 (there is a UN46B6000, UN46B7000 and a UN46B7100 though).

Third: There is no difference in picture quality between the 6000, 7000 or 7100 nor is there a difference in refresh rates (120 Hz). The 7000 & 7100 add the content library, Internet TV & DLNA Networking over the 6000.

Fourth: The UB40B6000 lists for $2,299.99. Sears and Samsung have a 10% off deal for the next few weeks that can get you under your $2100 target.

Well for starters, the LN line is not LED. That's just regular backlighting, CCFL I assume. So I guess you can cross that off your list if you're into an LED LCD TV.

The difference between the series 6 vs series 7, as from a Samsung press release,

-----

Building on the superior technologies and features found in the Series 6, the Series 7 takes networking and multimedia management to a whole new level. Consumers can easily enjoy MPEG and JPEG files stored on external devices by connecting through a side-mounted USB 2.0, turning their LCD into a full-scale home viewing gallery, or connect their MP3 players for a dynamic audio experience.

Additionally, the Series 7 features internal flash memory loaded with premium content to enjoy right out of the box, as well as an integrated woofer for an enhanced audio experience.

------

So if you don't absolutely need the multimedia upgrade from the series 7 then you can save some coin and just get the series 6 machine which is equal in picture quality. If you look for it on Amazon its listed at exactly your budget limit.

The Samsung 40" LNB650 is basically the same as the UN line except CCFL backlight. So the blacks are like more typical LCD blacks (not black). But otherwise a very solid set. And noticeably cheaper (like $800 less).

At $2100 you'd be better off getting a high end like 50" Plasma. Its better image quality than an LED LCD still. The LED LCD makes huge strides for LCD but it doesn't knock of Plasma sets.

Well the config of 35 equals XD 90000 so the chip in the external hardware will only allow so much scanning before the power drive shuts down.

Basically, don't buy a T.V. at all. All they do is annoy you and get in your face with stupid commercials about hair products
