HELP!!!!My TV has a red screen?

My parents gave us a big screen because the screen is red....model p46733at. Has anyone ever had this problem and know how to fix it? I appreciate any help!

Hi,

Have you tried adjusting the tint under picture menue. Too much tint also make a screen red.

Try moving the tint around and see if it makes a difference. I am assuming you're getting audio even though the picture is red, right? Because tint does not affect sound, only the picture.

Please note that if you're not getting audio as well, then it is something big.

Anyway, try the tint adjustment please.

It is likely red because the green and blue CRTs have died or are much weaker than the red one. The TV is possibly 12 years old based on the model number and has lived its useful life. You would need two new CRTs and likely the third one (red one) once you replaced the first two. And two new CRTs in a 12 year old set could just cause the rest of the set to die as well. Best to enjoy it in red or get a new TV.



If you insist on fixing it maybe someone who has spare parts from another TV of this type could fix it. But it will not last long and could cost more to fix in the long run than buying a new TV.

This large screenTV is one year old. We tried changing some of the settings on the remote and made it a bit better. Found that Best Buy does not work on TV's they sell.
