I have compared 1080P LCD and PLASMA TVs side by side at a big box store. Both using Blu Ray players with Pirates of the Caribbean 2 playing, The LCD TV displayed a very bright and sharp video like image while the plasma was more of a movie like image quality. What and why are they different? I asked a store employee and he had no idea. Can anyone shed some light. Thanks.

The big difference is the pane of glass that plasma tvs use. It creates glare on the screen and also dims the picture. Also Plasma tvs only get dimmer as they age so I would definately recommend the LCD

Plasma Tvs use tiny flurescent tubes that are crammed with gas and that they provide magnificent intensity to picures, yet fee is this is purely down area, in addition they create burn-in on the demonstrate screen if left on the comparable photograph too long, The lcd (lcd) type is a adverse 2d as in addition they burn-in besides and are greater fee-effective than plasma varieties, there's a 0.33 television called an LED television (gentle Emitting Diode) demonstrate which has a obtainable backlight whiich makes the image stand out greater, I study that a working laptop or laptop enterprise and an an electric powered enterprise had stepped forward a organic LED television which had removeable demonstrate screen aspects which made up the demonstrate screen, they have been like hundreds of micro television tubes in them, and whilst they burnt out they might get replaced, This enterprise of the backlight isn't new as I even have a backlight functionality in my Samsung 30'' LED television, it replaced into earlier the launch of the LED/lcd fashions so in case you could and choose the final you like a type of organic LED panels or you're purely getting a common television with purely a sprint backlight, i think the two companys have been Microsoft and Sharp. so I even have defined all your solutions to the final of my abillities, i'm hoping this is been of help. Could be the settings on the TV ...

If you go bigger than 42 inches, you should probably go Plasma. They perform and look better on bigger TVs.

plasma tv use more power... but plasma is cheaper if you want to go with big TV size, 50" and up.
