How to record programmes on tv?

I have a TH-50PX60B. I don't know if there's more than one but it's HD ready, says VIERA and the remote says IDTV. I think that we have built in freeview as there is no box for it. When I go on the programme list and press direct TV REC it says it won't work. I just want to record programmes so I can watch it later.

You have misunderstood how your television works.



"Direct TV Recording" only works if you have a Q-Link compatible recorder (video recorder, DVD recorder or Blu-Ray recorder) connected to your television. When you press the 'TV REC' button, the recorder that's connected to your TV, will automatically start to record whatever programme you are watching.



If you don't have a Q-Link compatible recorder connected to your TV, the "Direct TV recording" button does not work at all.

TV Rec will record the programme that you are currently watching but only if you have a Panasonic DVD recorder connected. The Viera Link is the Panasonic device control system that tells the recorder to record.

It is intended to make life easier for you because you only have to use one remote control. Without a DVD recorder connected you cannot record anything.
