I had dish network, but I canceled my subscription because I couldn't afford it any longer. I have a 1080p SONY bravia tv and it's HD built in. I know there are antennas out there that if I put them on, I can get most of the local channels for free, but I don't know which ones are good. I have a friend that has an antenna and a similar tv and it looks so good, that it looks like he has satellite. He's on a long 1 month vacation so I can't ask him cause he's out of the country, that's why I depend on you guys. I have 3 televisions, but only 2 are hd, so, can you help me save $$ by telling me which is the right antenna for me? Thanks.

Go to www.antennaweb.org and enter your address.

It will tell you which antenna is right for you. Antennas are COLOR-coded (Blue, green, etc.)based on their gain. The more gain, the more stations you can get. Then, just go buy one with the gain you want.

Outdoor is always a best option , the best antenna for outdoor or a attic

installation is the channelmaster4221HD 4 bay antenna, Also since you

are going to hook it up to 3 TV's ( the non HD TV needs a converter box)

You need a pre amplifier google channel master titan7777 If you do an attic

install try pointing techniques to find the best reception to get as many channels

as you want, also the higher the better. But Outdoor will give you 30% better

results than a attic especially if you have a open line of sight, and grounding

for lightining protection is also important for outdoor installations. This site

www.tvfool.com will tell you what HD channels you can get with putting your

zip code and where to point.

here is a link for an outdoor antenna

http://overtheair.saveandreplay.com/channel_master_4221HD.asp

and a pre amplifier

IF this is too complicated and you just want a indoor setup

and less channels. Then these 2 indoor antennas are the best

indoor antennas I tested out of hundreds of crappy rabbit ears

at best buy or wal mart. But since it's indoor try to put it as high

as possible and try pointing techniques to see what gets you most.

this one has a little amplifier with it and you just point at the city to get signals it can get

signals up to 40 miles

same with this one

An HDTV antenna is hogwash. it is no longer something better than a UHF antenna - a good UHF antenna gets you the alerts which you may watch HDTV. it is quite often a rip-off for the marketeers. merely get a good exterior UHF or perhaps use your contemporary exterior UHF/Vhf antenna and in case you have an pastime the small ingredient areas of that antenna is the place you %. up the UHF sign and the bigger components are for channels 2 to 13. wish this has helped you out.

I second the AntennaWeb.org idea.

In terms of brands - if you can use an indoor antenna, the Phillips SilverSensor Classic antenna is very good for about $25.

For outdoor - look into Wineguard brand antennas.
