At the moment I receive the bilsdale transmitter signal and I am limited with freeview channels there is another transmitter signal from emerley moor transmitter which is also in my area with a better choice of channels. How much would it cost to reposition my ariel to pick up the alternative transmitter?

It should be no more than £40 just to move it You may need a new aerial as Bilsdale presently needs a type A aerial Emley moor uses a type B .

if its a recent aeriall it might be a broadband type which can do either but , as you mention the aerial will still need to be turned to face Emley moor .

I would recomend getting a broadband aerial even if you stay on bilsdale as you may need one to get some of the new channels after the digital changeover . If I was you i would wait till september when Bilsdale digital switchover happens . After that date the power will be increased so that you may not even need to change or move your aerial.

I hesitate to respond to this since the right answer in the U.S. is not necessarily the right answer in the U.K. But in the U.S., the obvious solution is to install a rotor at the top of the mast so that the aerial can be easily positioned in any desired direction.
