I checked in the shop and compared a 32inch freeview with HD against the same Freeview channel not in HD on different set, there was almost no difference! both fantastic.

Both on a SONY 32inch. whats the point in paying extra for HD Freeview?

Ahh, tell you what, video experts claim that the differences between HD and SD (non HD) only start showing up when the tv gets to 50 inches or more. My advice to you is that you shouldn't waste extra money on the Freeview HD TV at 32inches. If u want it at 32inches, just buy the normal one and u will save money. If u really want HD to melt your eyes, buy 50 inches or more, although you will have to sacrifice extra cash.

With smaller televisions (less than 37") it is very hard for most people to tell the difference between HD and SD pictures. It's really only worth buying an HD TV if it's 37" or bigger.

there is currently no TV which can receive freeview HD directly, they all need a box( some are just coming onto the market) under 32" there is not much difference and if you wear glasses or are over 40 you will not see much difference anyway

As you're saying, TVs those days all have Freeview equipped in. yet they nonetheless can p.c.. up analogue alerts. some TVs actually have Freesat equipped in as well. Freesat will nonetheless paintings ok - you would basically conect that to the television, a similar as a Sky field.

high definition is available on Sky, so if you have Sky or intend getting it,HD would be your best bet, incidentally i have had Samsung for years and would recommend them they are an excellent make and a little bit cheaper than Sony.
