Sony is overpriced anyway. There are many good plasma TV's on the market...Plasma is the best choice due to the 170 degree viewing angle, great colors and saturation, no more burn-in, AND no lag/blurr on fast motion sports, shows, or gaming.!! I would NEVER go back to LCD or LED...!!

No panasonic, LG and Samsung still make plasma's and for 2010 Panasonic plasma won best TV of 2010 with it's 3dtv the VT20 and VT25 models delivering the best high def and 3d images of 2010 Also Panasonic's G25 and G20 plasma along with LG's PK Plasma and a 3000 dollar Samsung Full matrix Local dimmig LED won best HDTV picture's . Sony is Making LCD/LED and most other companies because of money and marketing. LCD's and LED' s are the same except they use all kinds of marketing tactics to get more money, for example Sharp's yellow sub pixel LED made me laugh and it's almost the same price (non 3d) as the best tv of 2010 panasonic's 3DTV VT25 plasma at the same size, Also I don't see Sharps yellow Quattron TV even in the top 10 for 2010. LCD/LED 's have more marketing lies on them, yet I have not seen one beat a plasma's picture yet, Why should something with the best picture be outdated?

3-4 years ago SONY decided to exit the Plasma market.

Panasonic and many others still make plasma and they are great TVs.

right that is a summary of both: photo high quality of plasma is brighter, more desirable suited colour, more desirable suited blacks than liquid crystal demonstrate. (there is something about looking right now at sparkling phosphors!) Sharpness is an identical for equivalent pixel counts. some more recent LCDs have 1080 x 1920 determination, maximum plasmas nonetheless contained in the 720 x 1280 determination. Plasma is heavier and makes use of more desirable skill than flat panel liquid crystal demonstrate. There are comments that plasmas are not any more as reliable or they don't very last as lengthy, in spite of the indisputable fact that it really is now no longer real with the hot fashions. Plasma phosphors dim slowly over the years (yet no longer as quick as CRT phosphors); yet direct view LCDs use flourescent lamps which also dim and finally burn out (some are replaceable). Plasmas are challenge to burn-in. A table certain photo left on the demonstrate for a lengthy time period might want to produce an eternal ghost photo. the most probability is at the same time as viewing dissimilar 4:3 ratio images (non-HD), that are displayed with vertical darkish elements on the left and excellent to fill contained in the large demonstrate. there are strategies to reduce this, in spite of the indisputable fact that. many contraptions have a "stretch" mode which widens the photo to fill the comprehensive demonstrate. that is sometimes a concern with prolonged playing of video games if there's a historic past photo it really is nonetheless table certain. Plasmas are available additional desirable sizes, in spite of the indisputable fact that tremendous flat panel LCDs are popping out, yet they are extreme priced. liquid crystal demonstrate projectors might want to nicely be 70". liquid crystal demonstrate comparison and brightness might want to nicely be decreased at the same time as viewing from off-middle (both flat and projector, yet contraptions will determination).

Sony hasn't made a plasma in at least 3 years.
