Vizio USB ports or media widget wont work?

Question

I just bought a Vizio E3D420VX tv and I am trying to use the usb ports. I have followed the directions that it has given me and it does not seem to be working. 1st direction for "using the usb media player" is.... "1. Turn the tv off. Connect your usb thumb drive to the usb port on the side of the tv.
2. Press the POWER/STANDBY button on the remote or touch the POWER control on the side of the tv to turn it on" I have done exactly what it says and i was expecting when i turned the tv on for something to pop up but when i turn the tv on like it says only thing that pops up is the last cable channel i had on before i turned the tv off. the second instruction for "PLAYING USB MEDIA" is..... "1. connect your usb thumb drive to the usb port on the side of tv. 2. highlight the MEDIA APP and press OK. 3. Highlight your usb device in the list and press OK." problem is no list comes up. it says "NO MEDIA DETECTED"

perhaps the format of your media not supported by tv........call vizio and ask them what formats they support.

I think USB drive is accessible through "Media" app from your Vizio apps. So goto vizio apps and select Media and click on it..

The connection port for the USB cable on the back of the TV broke off. Can this be replaced and where can I find a new one?
