I have an old big screen tv and everytime I use the remote to turn it on, it clicks with no picture on it.....

I want to know whats wrong with the tv? and how much will it cost to get if fixed?

Most likely the Horzontal OUTPUT or the Convergence AMPS are bad.....
Cost is about $250 to $400 depending on where you live...in the city is cheapest, the next county is more costly....

Just about all the old tv has a life span on the picture tube, they only last for so long then they become black or you get a thin line going accross it either horizontal or vertical. If you hear sound from the tv most likely you need a component called flyback and that is very expensive to replace, if you get no sound or pictures most likely the power supply need to be service, it could be a cold solder joint or an active device like a transistor or a open capacitor. If you give me more information about your tv i can tell you what exactly is wrong with it because I'm a electronic techinicial...

I think instead of fixing the TV...If you have time invest in a new TV...It will be better...Switch to a new TV

Try callin a repairman from bestbuy or circuit city to get a checkup

its not broken.-....can you turn it on manually? sometimes on old tv's it only works on standby....is the cable plugged in or is there any menu programming that is not switched right? try trouble shooting first
