Which one do you like better...Dish Network or DirectTV?

Question

Getting SO ticked off with my cable company, so I am considering switching to a satellite dish...but not sure which one would be better. So, I wanted to see which would people had good vs bad experiences with. Thanks!

I have had them both -- currently have Dish Network. They're BOTH better than cables, so you can't really go wrong. If you're a fan of pro football DirectTV has the NFL package (though it's pretty expensive now).



Overall, I'd give Dish Network a slight edge -- the price is more reasonable, there are lots of sports and movie options, the picture and service have been excellent (I left DirectTV because of very poor service).

Directv! I've had it for about 3yrs now and never had a problem. The programmed channels are so much better then Dish Network. I was considering switching so that I could get the free DVR (because they weren't offering it when I first signed up), but after comparing them, there's no way I want to give up some of my favorite channels for it. I'll pay the $48 for the reciever.



You should compare and see which channels you like, my friend has Dish Network and is happy with what she gets.

I have both...I think it depends on what your trying to watch. If you have an HD TV I would suggest going with Dishnetwork. They have more HD channels and do a better job on compressions which gives even the standard def images crisper and clearer.



If your looking for Standard Def TV (AKA regular TV) and a DVR I would suggest DirecTV as they have the Hughes Box with TIVO built in. The box blows away any Dishnetwork box out there.

I really like Directv. I have never had a problem with them in 5 years. I think they are cheaper to with more channels.
