How much does it cost someone to come out and fix my high-up rooftop TV aerial for Freeview reception?

I get very poor terrestrial reception and no freeview reception. Even with a signal booster, reception is poor.

I was wondering what a guide price may be for someone to go up on the roof (three-storey building) and adjust the aerial, which I imagine could possibly include replacing the aerial itself.

is there easy access to the roof or is it big ladder or crane job that will make a difference.

is it council owned it might be an old analogue aerial and it does need to be digital aerial.

have you tryed an electric aerial Ive two on 2 TV's upstairs and get all the freeview ,you could try one off them in Argos £17.99 if it doesn't work get a refund.

Look in your local Yellow Pages for 'Aerials'.



Phone at least 3 firms for quotes. Make sure you make it clear you are in a three storey building. Also ask what guarantee, if any, they can give that the job they do will actually improve your reception. If you are in a poor reception area, it may not be possible to get Freeview.

It always peeves me when people like yourself have to pay money to someone to get something like that attended to. Here in the states, I would go to work like hell's hammers, finding someone who is a friend to foot the ladder while I crawl up there and adjust it for you myself at absolutely no charge. I would sooner have dinner at a restaurant with you, than charge you money to fix something. I meet people all the time who get stuck. A woman just gave me a beautiful HP printer because it got stuck in paper-jam mode. I don't have a clue how to fix it yet, but she was going to throw it away. Fixing stuff - helping people. You have to know it is so good when you can, and do. Lorraine is my neighbor across the street and she is in her eighties. She put out this bunch of brush after weeding her garden the other day. She was going to pay someone to take it down behind her property and feather it into the woods. I tucked it under my arm and did it on the spot. There you are, Lorraine! My God, we can help one another so much if we just see the opportunities and respond to them! And then someone helps you when you get stuck. Well, I am very sorry I cannot answer your question or even help by doing, but I wanted you to know I hope you get it fixed quickly so you can enjoy it all again. Depends on whether you have trees, other tall buildings etc around. If so you need to have the aerial fixed onto a very tall pole. Mine like this cost around £100.
