I have a samsung 55 in lcd tv on my living room wall with hd comcast cable to tv thru a hd box. The comcast tech said it was my splitters so he changed them all to comcast splitters. The squares appear sometimes for short periods and longer still.

It sounds like the signal strength is low. This "tile" effect can be caused by a couple of problems, to many splitters, gage for the wire being used is not thick enough (this can be the wire any where between the outside box and your tv), or somthing as simple as the coax cable connectors being loose. Call your cable company and let them know you are still having the same problem. They should run a signal strength check. Sometimes they can install an amplifier to strengthen the signal. I had this problem myself and it took some time to figure out that the wire used at the apts was not the right gage. Hope you get it fixed.

I see these sometimes. They are very brief and not disruptive. Most recently it looked like a large, mosaic-like image of a panda bear on my screen which appeared briefly and then disappeared. The squares are nearly always red, black and white and transparent I thought it might be some kind of subliminal advertising, or maybe my eyes are just playing tricks on me.
