Hello, I’m in the market for a television for my Xbox 360. I would like a high definition set top box built into it so I already have access to the high definition channels. I also intend to use it as a Pc monitor to edit movies as I’m a film student. Naturally I’m after 1920x1080. I’m hoping for an LCD but I’m happy for it to be LED. I don’t think they make plasmas under 32inchs. I’m also hoping the panel refresh rate will be 100 Hz. I also want the television to have decent sound

I’m finding however its proving difficult to find a television with the specs I am after or at least most of them. And any television I’m remotely interested in, I’m finding no reviews for. What I am asking is your opinion on what television I should buy with at least some of these specifications I have listed.

It has to be twenty four inch as my room is quite small and that’s the largest I could properly get to fit in my room.

Thankyou in advance.

At that size, you will get a 720p HDTV, and it will have to be an LED or LCD...(Basically the same except for an LED being thinner and more expensive..) The biggest problem with LED/LCD for gaming is a lag or blurr on fast motion..The 120/240 cycle refresh rate does not fix the problem..(It even screws up some movies you watch.!) Plasma is the way to go, but that would be over 40 inches. They have a very fast response time, no blurr. AND..The newer plasma TV's do not have any more burn-in issues.. That has been addressed with all kinds of technology including an 'orbiting' type...The life of a plasma is the same as any other TV.. I see so many negative plasma comments, but if you look carefully, you wil see the difference in Best Buy or any good TV store with a lot of models. LED/LCD also has a poor 'off to the sides' viewing.....It causes color and saturation changes when you go too far off center.. Plasma will view up to 170 degrees with no loss of color or anything!!

You definitely want an LED as their backlighting technology is far superior to traditional LCD backlighting. Look for 100hz or higher refresh rate. Plasma has burn-in problems and is likely to give you problems when using your Xbox. Check walmart.com, amazon.com, bestbuy.com and others. You shouldn't have a problem finding the TV you want.
