Why look for alternative to sky I have sky myself and have had a good service if you are in the uk the only alternative is virgin media which has the same channels as sky but misses out on a few due to a dispute between sky and virgin you wont be able to get skyone, skytwo skyskysports news, skynews and skytrancel.

Do you mean you currently have Sky and are looking for an alternative if you churn out? Or do you mean that you haven't yet decided what to choose?

If the first, then you already have a sat dish and box. I would recommend that you simply cancel the subscription and watch only the free channels. There are really loads of them. Admitted many of them are junk, but there's plenty of good stuff.

That's unless you are keen on sport.

Depends on what you require. If youre happy enough with just extra channels insteas of bbc1 , 2 , ITV, ch4 and 5 then Freeview could be for you , However if you want premium channels like film , sport , music ect. Stay with Sky , give NTL a wide bearth NTL is very unreliable.

I was with Ntl/virgin media for 3 years they are the cheapest but not the best, I have now moved to sky although they are more expensive they are better.

I wouldnt have thought so...BBC is part of your 5 standard channels so even if you didnt have digital tv you would still have BBC
