my tv won't switch channels with remote control?

Past two days my tv wont change the channels from remote control i thought the problem was in remote control so i changed and bought a new remote control but still it doesn't work. The tv works fine but you cant change the channels with remote control you have to go to the tv and change it from there. I need help

My mom had a Magnavox that would "go stupid" and not respond to the remote control. Try unplugging the TV, counting to 30, and plugging it back in. This will reboot the processor inside the set that the remote control talks to.



If that doesn't work, then the sensor itself probably has a problem. Then you need to take it in for repair.

ir sensor on television is either blocked where it can't get the signal from the remote or it is out and can't receive the signal. if this is a new tv, try unplugging the set and see if it "resets" to factory default. also this is going to sound stupid, but make sure if the remote is a multi function model that it is in the correct mode.

check to make sure the correct code for your tv is programed into the remote,also make sure sensor on remote or tv isn't blocked
