I'm guessing here based on my DirecTV experience. I would believe that you have to have a high-speed Internet connection to the receiver to get on-demand. Here's why: the satellite providers have a fixed number of satellites in space, each with a fixed number of transponders. The content is fed to the birds from ground stations, then back to your receiver and TV. If they had to feed the on-demand programming from the sky, the demand for the content would immediately overwhelm the available bandwidth on the transponders. In other words, they would be sending too much data up.

Therefore, the requests and content are likely fed from ground-based servers and sites, requiring an Internet connection. This is how DirecTV does it. I added a second wireless router to my home network to which I connect the satellite receiver and the Wii. This way, I could route the signals to my home office router and get the connection without having to run any cables.

On demand is downloaded and requires an internet connection

For PPV, you just need to order it, and ordering pay per views with a phone line connected cost about $2 extra.

Yes, you do need to connect your Dish receiver to the internet in order to watch VOD. The $1 charge will then be added to your next bill. You will see it on the next bill, under the PPV/VOD charges.

They possibly might have had the 1st fact instruct starring themselves! yet seeing as how they have been the only 2 human beings around, it would have had an rather constrained run. possibly the serpent produced & directed it - who is conscious?
