So - today i get my 22" HD ready technika tv with built in freeview. so i unplug my 16" one and try to use the freeview.. it wasn't having any of it... so i kept trying and went out to buy a new digital indoor arial. So i get back , and it shows up me having all the channels , so i was like , oh great it's gonna work. HOWEVER i switch from bbc1 to itv and it wont play. so i try tuning it , it's great until i take my finger off of the arial!?! i mean what's happening.I can't get dave , but i can get dave ja vu?! i cant get bbc 4 but get bbc 3 etc. i cant get channel itv , channel 4 or 5... riddiculous. so i try the other tv and that wont get anything - with either arial , what can i do?! i mean im really annoyed!

Yep I agree with Kernow Lady, if you can use an indoor ariel and pick up freeview properly then you are very lucky.

You will find that the problem you are having is that your ariel is not picking up the digital signal properly in your area. You can get ariel amplifiers that are supposed to boost the signal but to be honest you really would be wasting your money buying one of those also. A Proper outdoor digital ariel is the way to go with this problem.

You need a proper wideband aerial on your roof aligned correctly to your nearest transmitter. indoor ones do not have much power. You will also need to do a channel search again when you have one fitted. I worked for ONdigital when freeview first came out and people hardly ever got a signal on an indoor aerial.

Sorry there is no way around it.
