WON'T WORK!

"the dvd player has the yellow, white and red inputs..."

You don't mention if it has yellow, white and red OUTPUTS, which is what you'll need to connect to something else.

Yellow, Red, White = composite RCA cables.

If the portable DVD player and the TV both have the composite RCA ports then yes it should work. You simply go to any TV or electronics store and ask for a set of composite RCA cables (or just tell them the ones that are yellow, red, and white, any salesperson will know what you need).

Then just match up the colors on both ends of the equation and you're good to go. You will have to change the TV's input setting though likely. There should be some kind of Input selector on the remote or in the menu system (Input, TV/Video, something like that). You'll just have to make sure its set to the right one for the cables you just hooked up. But other than that you should be good to go.

Also, the one other comment is definitely correct, that the portable DVD player RCA jacks must be OUTPUT jacks and not input jacks. If they are input jacks, the no you can't do this. The signal needs to go OUT from the portable DVD player and IN to the TV.

Yellow is video, Red is Right audio and White is Left audio. You can pick up the cables (color not important) at some place like Radio Shack.

However, the TV must have inputs for these signals! If it doesn't, an RF modulator would be needed; Its output would be on either Channel 3 or 4.

if your tv has those yellow/red/white wire also, you can do it. when you hook them up make sure your dvd player is switched to OUT. i've used mine as a regular dvd player for my tv

yes.

If you have a PC: see that blue wire behind the back of ur PC monitor/the big bit with screws on that plugs into the back of it? Assuming you have a tele that allows you to do so, plug it into ur tele and the USB into ur portable DVD player. :)
