I just got a new smart TV samsung and I'm having a nightmare... I did everything above...

It's connected to the wifi and apps work fine.

Then to set up freeview - I select Aerial - terrestrial (I tried cable and plugged to the network cable too)... I put source TV... all seems correct. But, it scans and it doesn't find any channels...

What am I doing wrong? :-(

Help please... I've spent 1 day on this so far...

Do I need a freeview cable / something at all? I thought I could just connect if I was connected to the wifi?

Many thanks

I'd make sure that you have the aerial plugged in to the correct socket (mine will connect to aerial and cable/sat via a separate inputs). If there's anything between the aerial and the TV such as a DVD player or other box, disconnect them for now. If none of that works then it may be that you have a faulty set. If you go into the menu's on your TV you can get it to connect directly to a Samsung rep, and they can run diagnostics remotely - the instructions are in the e-manual on the TV itself!

*To get freeview you need an aerial!

You have to hook up an antenna.

Forget the wifi - Freeview or Over the Air channels have nothing to do with your home wireless system.

(You keep mixing these things.)

Try going to www.antennaweb.org and typing in your address. It will show you where the TV towers are around your home so you can position your antenna to point to the towers/channels you want. Then you trigger the channel scan and the TV will see what channels are strong enough for you to view.

Thank you Crim... I'm confused.

So to connect to aerial - I can connect via my wifi, right? And in this case, it wouldn't be plugged to a socket?

As i gets the wifi signal via the router... ?

I'll get my head round (please help) it and then connect to the rep - so I can explain myself better! :-)

Thank you ever so much
