I bought a new Hitachi 42in LCD TV and am trying to tune it in. Auto tune gets me all the channels plus Sky (but no sound on Sky - others OK), but how do I tune in all the Freeview channels? None came up on the Auto tune. And what happened to the sound on Sky? Am in Northern Ireland within sight of transmitters about 25 miles away.

Freeview is a Digital TV service that allows you to watch over 40 extra channels via your TV aerial. You don't need a satellite dish, and there's no subscription charge - all you need is a Freeview set-top box, or a telly that has a built-in Freeview receiver.

This page is aimed at people looking to switch over to Freeview, and provides a basic guide on how to get and start watching Freeview.

As long as you're in a good reception area, you should be able to view over 40 TV channels and around 20 radio channels.

Really, without reading the manuals for both the TV and the set-top boxes noone else can help you. Not much use, but you'll have to RTFM. If you think the settop boxes are working, and have plugged the aerial leads in correctly then try doing re-scam on the TV.
