I have a Sony Bravia model KDL-46S4100 and the antenna reception is horrible with the very few channels it can actually pick up. I've had it for almost 2 years and untill about 1 month ago I had cable so I had no idea about the reception with the regular antenna. The original warranty is dead but I did get the 2 year extended warranty that is covered by Walmart. Can I take the TV back and either get my money back or a different TV?

Under extended warranty regulation is will only covered all " repair cost " but not for money back / ex-change to other unit. unless the TV " beyond repair ".

there in no problems to repair if the reception is bad . ^ could be the tuner pack / RF module problems . keep in mind > " could be ". . and " MAY BE " because of you Antenna or even is because antenna cable / connection / antenna plug / socket / since you " THINK " look like very sure is because of the Sony Bravia model KDL-46S4100 given trouble , the only way is MADE USE of you extended warranty RIGHT, get it don for FREE , but never hope for refund or exchange.

however . better make sure is because of the Sony Bravia model KDL-46S4100 !

simple way to get answer > just " carry " you Vizio TV from the kids room to " replace " the Sony, plug in the antenna use for Sony.... you get real answer !

Sorry , to me " is not the Sony ". is because of antenna cable / connection / antenna plug / socket .

but you much " carry ' the Vizio TV to the " Sony room " than you get answer !

do it . PLEASE.

BTW .IS YOU SONY BUILT IN ACST DIGITAL TUNER OR USE DIGITAL ACST CONVERTER ?

is could be you digital ACST converter is out too ! 2 year old TV may not built in digital tuner. , make sure about this issue too. you Vizio should be less than 22 months and built in ACST tuner .

There are many locations where antenna reception will be so bad you may have to go back to cable or sat. It's related to how close you are to broadcast towers and how much interference is between you and the towers.

It's not the tv's fault. No other tv will be better. It's just your location. An outdoor roof antenna might be better, but it's going to be affected by the same things as mentioned above. If your kid's tv is better, it may just be the side of the house they are on. If you can move your Sony in that room and check it out.

Cable has some very basic programs which may not be too expensive.

Extended warranties cover labor and repair costs only. Bad reception is due to you antenna. Upgrade your antenna to an hd antenna if you don't want to go back to cable.

Satellite service is usually cheaper than cable, so check out http://www.directv.com and http://www.dishnetwork.com

If it is broken you likely can take it back for service or warranty replacement.

It might be less hassle to get an external digital tuner.

i'm afraid you're probable going to could consume it (and kill the canine). could have the ability to do some thing including your homestead proprietor's coverage? i could propose a extra shelter mounting for the alternative (or get a lots smaller canine). (what's incorrect with a gold fish?)

No, you can't, and it's not the tv''s fault, it's the reception.
