USB not working on LG tv?

So no matter what flash drive, when I put my usb into the tv, a menu pops up asking if i would like to view it, when I click it all it shows is a folder with the name of the flash drive i used. And nothing else, no video, no songs, no pictures. any help please?

If you see all songs pics etc, good on your Pc, then its the wrong format.You have NTFS when the tv will only play Fat32 or vice versa.I have a samsung that only plays pics & music and only recognises Fat32.My other Samsung newer better model plays Ext HDD in NTFS.Go figure.I would check on LG support with your exact model info,and see if thats the case.It usually fixes it right up.See the compatability for USB media through TV.Good Luck

How are you connecting, and what kind of USB connection is on the TV? If it's the standard large input (like you see on computers), you may have to power the TV off first, then plug the device in, then power the TV back up. You might also have to access the TV's menu system to access the media...this is how I had to do it on my 55" Vizio. Also, your set may not be capable of reading memory storage from a second device like a camera or phone. Look in the operations manual, they should explain it in detail there.

go to media menu and select....photo video.......... read tv manual .
