No, you won't need a converter box. In fact, the digital signals on cable are created differently from the ones you get with an antenna (for the technically inclined, QAM modulation on cable and VSB modulation over the air via antenna), so the converter boxes won't get anything if they are hooked to cable. I know, I've already tested mine (the converter boxes only decode VSB, not QAM).

The cable companies are supposed to keep the analog signals on their systems for several (4?) years, so you should be good for a while. If they change over before then, they are supposed to give you free equipment to decode their digital signals.

The FCC has mandated that cable keep analog until 2012. Dish providers such as Dish and DirecTV are already digital. This transition is only for free over the air televisions. Once 2012 comes around, the FCC will investigate and decide whether to still require cable companies to be both analog and digital or to not extend that requirement. If they decide to not require cable companies to provide analog, cable companies will for sure switch to an all digital network, and then you will have to worry about converter boxes, but that is not until 2012.

RE: How do i'm getting lacking Comcast cable channels shrink returned? I incredibly have Comcast television cable and optimal of my cable channels have long long previous lacking. the in worry-loose words cable that keeps to be is climate, the two Cspans, and a pair others. I don't have a cable field; I stay in a house progression and the in worry-loose words Comcast kit I incredibly have is the cables themselves. Why ought to 3 channels bypass...
