how do I reset the passcode on my RCA TV?

the v-chip on my tv accidentally got activated and we can't reset because we have never used a passcode. The TV is about 5 years old. We've tried the usual default passcodes, 0000, 1234, no luck.

It depends on what model number your tv is. The unlock process is not the same for all models of RCA.

If you forget your password you can reset it. Make sure the TV is off.

Simultaneously press and hold VOL- on the TV’s front panel and CLEAR on the

remote for approximately 5 seconds. Enter a new password next time you access

the PARENTAL CONTROL menu.
