My eldelry, poorly sighted mother needs a code for her universal remote control. Goodmans, whose name is on the TV, say they did not manufacture it. Comet who sold it do not have the code. Harvard International plc who market it, say it is nothing to do with them. Vivanco who market the remote, do not have any more codes. Any ideas welcome!

Many universal remotes have a user mode that steps through all codes one at a time. Once the remote outputs a code that turns the unit on or off, it is likely that you have found a match.

Do you have the original TV remote, and is it still functioning? If so, shop for a universal remote that is designed to "learn" codes form an original remote, by copying the codes one at a time while the two units are pointed at one another.

You don't ask the people that made or sold the TV. They don't know. The most they can supply, if at all, is the raw remote codes, which you cannot use on a typical universal remote.

What you need to do is ask the universal remote manufacturer what setup code is likely to work on your TV, or do a code search. You need to go in that direction because the code database is made by them, and they know what codes it is programmed for.

According to my code book, there are only 2 codes for Technosonic. 0037 and 0556. I hope these help.
