Dunno if i will be able to get any help with this but i'm looking at the Yahoo TV listings. I put in my zip and dish network (satellite provider). All of it is right except it shows some other channels i don't seem to have. There are 2 extra NBC channels located on channel 241 and 242, but if i look in my satellite menu screen, those channels aren't there. I have 'show all channels' selected with my Dish but those ones don't show up.

There are also 2 other CBS and ABC channels in the same area that i can't find. I think they are from different TV affiliates. Anyone know what the deal is? I ask because there's a show coming on tomorrow at 10:30 i want to see, but i won't be home then, I will however probably be home at 11:30, which is when it will be re-airing on one of the additional NBC channels that the Yahoo TV listings say i should have. Hope someone can help, thanks.

I've looked for a channel 241 and 242 throughout all of the Dish satellites and I couldn't find them (using a satellite guide online)

Here is a round about way to see what stations are available in your area.

There is a website that shows all of the channels that can be received through certain satellites.

If you go into "Advanced Search" in Yahoo, you can search through a domain for specific keywords.

So in advanced search, go down to "only search in domain" and in that field, type: lyngsat.com (a satellite programming info site)

Then go to the top where it says : "all of these words" and type NBC and the TV stations ID (ie. WBRE or KFOR....whatever it is in your area) and then type echostar. So in that field, and example of what you would type in would be: wbre echostar

Then click on the result that has echostar in the title. Locate the callsign (station ID) and then look at the SID. This id is the channel number. This may or may not be the same as shown in the Yahoo TV listings.

If the city name next to the station ID is the same as the city that you live in, you'll be able to receive it if you have access to local channels through your subscription.

If Local Channels are not available to you, then you are allowed to get the NYC and LA feeds for the four major networks. If Locals are available, those NYC and LA feeds will not be available. The Yahoo TV listings will list everything that Dish Network (and DirecTV, for that matter) carries regardless of your area and your subscription package.

I would give dishnetwork a call, I have dishnetwork work and I have recently had a problem where all of my local channels just disappeared. They walked me through a series of steps using my remote and all of the channels came back.

nicely,in case you're taking the channel of sketch community and divide it via the starz channel, then to the skill of the comedy channel....you will probable would desire to divide via 0 and harm the full fabric of the universe....stable luck :D
