I just got a brand new TV yesterday. I took it out of the box, plugged the cable in from the wall to the TV and all I get is "Digital Channel signal strength is low."
The whole reason I got an upgraded TV was so I didn't have to mess with that whole digital tuner box.
Help!

. . . "Plugged in the cable from the wall to the TV" . . . What's the jack on the wall connected to?
ANTENNA: If it's connected to an antenna, then make sure the TV is set for "antenna" tuning, not "cable" tuning and rescan for channels. My Toshiba was set for "cable" tuning right out of the box. If you still have problems, make sure the wall jack is actually connected to an antenna; it may be connected to nothing or to an old cable TV installation. Missing channels is almost always due to a poor signal. For assistance on choosing an antenna, visit http://www.antennaweb.org .
CABLE: If it's connected to cable, then make sure the TV is set for "cable" tuning, not "antenna" tuning and rescan for channels. You are going to have to scan for channels in any event. If you are still having problems, contact your cable company.

there are analog signals , digital signals & hd signals depending on format of program being viewed, if signal is low contact cable to se how much signal you have.

I'm having the same problem "low signal". I'm seeing answers to "contact your cable company". But like the original poster, I'm trying to avoid paying cable so there is not cable company to contact! What are our other options to get signal that's usable. I thought that's what a digital TV was suppose to allow me to do.

Check the cable first. Is it damaged or loose. Swap with a friends cable. If the problem is resolved buy a new cable.
