I'm lookin to buy a 26 inch vizio LCD tv. I'm skeptical on the size, though, but its being offered to me for really cheap.

If anyone has a smaller tv like that, how is it? Is the picture comfortable to watch, is it TOO small to watch comfortably.

Hi,

I am working for a cable company since 2007. Picking the appropriate screen size for a new LCD television can be an exercise in futility. Many consumers are confused about how large the LCD screen should be for the space, and there are numerous methods to determine the correct distance a viewer should sit from the screen. Use the following tips to help you pick the LCD TV screen size that's right for you.

1. Determine the size of the space the LCD television will be located. This measurement will be the critical factor in determining the screen's size.

2. Place all furniture and seating areas where they are most comfortable to the viewer. Start with where the furniture is at present and see if that configuration is still appropriate for an LCD television.

3. Calculate the distance from the viewing area to where the LCD television will be. A 26-inch LCD television or smaller should be viewed from approximately max 5-10 feet away. Larger sized screens require a larger, deeper viewing distance. A 60-inch LCD screen should be viewed from approximately 15 to 20 feet away.

4. Consider the angle at which the LCD television will be viewed. Some models of LCD televisions offer better viewing angles from the seating area than others. Viewing angle is the angle the television can be viewed from the side before picture degradation occurs.

The size is depending on you. If you like watching tv close then the size is ok. But if you are watching it from a distance then get a bigger tv. You stated that you are getting a really cheap tv. Vizio is that a cheap tv and not very reliable and won't last long. I would not recommended this tv to anyone. You should look at Panasonic, Sony, Samsung or Toshiba. You might pay more, but you are paying for quality and reliability. I am sure you have heard of the expression "Pay me now or pay me later". Hope this will help you out.

It has been estimated that the best distance from which to watch an HDTV (since it's lcd i'm assuming its HD) is 3 times the size of the screen.

3 x 26" = 78" so 6.5 feet away from the tv. If you are going to be watching it much further away, then get a bigger tv.

Vizio, Philips/Magnavox, Samsung, Orion, Durabrand, Visco, Tatung, Emerson, Sylvannia, Westinghouse, ilo = Trash, Disposable TVS Its cheap for a reason, its because they dont have a support structure behind the product, once it breaks out of warranty, your screwed. No Parts, no support. Get a Sony if all possible, they make the most reliable units on the market today.
