I dropped the remote control for Dish Network and now the tv is saying, "no signal." The satellite is on and everything was working fine before I dropped it. The remote will turn the tv on and off but nothing we (it's my boyfriend's remote) press will retrieve the satellite signal. What's going on!?

The TV has multiple inputs like HDMI1, HDMI2, etc. You changed the input to something OTHER than the Dish receiver.

Look on the Dish remote in the upper left to find the "INPUT" button. Point it at the TV and press is slowly until the TV changes to show the Dish feed.

Hope this helps.

Hello Queenfan, thank you for submitting your question. I am happy to help answer this for you. Whenever a television displays a black, blue, or snowy screen, it only means that your television itself is on the wrong input and/or channel or it is not acquiring a connection from your receiver to television. If your television is located near the Dish Network receiver (TV1), it is connected by audio/video cables to provide the picture and sound. Here are the different types of cables that can be in use:

RCA - (red, white, and yellow)

Component - (red, white and red, blue, green)

HDMI - (has a flat tip on both ends and is used for high definition TV's mainly)

Coaxial - (has a metal tip that you twist or screw in on both receiver and televisoin)

Each one of these cables require a specific channel number or input, (inputs consists of letters instead of numbers), in order for your television to display a picture. Here are the input names or channel numbers for each cable:

RCA - (INPUT, VIDEO, A/V, etc.)

Component - (Comp, Component, Colorstream, etc.)

HDMI - (HDMI, HDMI/DVI, etc.)

Coaxial - (Channel 3 or 4 or 62, 75, 69, 125, etc.)

In order to acquire your television on the correct input you must make sure that your dish network receiver and television are powered on. Next, identify which type of a/v cables you have connected from your receiver to your television. Then on your television remote, dish remote, or manually on your television itself; there will be a button that says input, tv/video, source, or cable, (etc.) When you press that button, it will display a menu that will give you the input options for the specific av cable you have connected. Therefore, you will choose the correct input for the type of a/v cable you have connected. After doing so, a picture will display on your screen.

Keep in mind that if you are connected by a coaxial cable from your Dish Network receiver to your television, you will only have to change your television to channel 03 or 04.

Also, this information is only for television one that is next to the Dish Network receiver. If your television is located in a separate room from your receiver, then it will display a picture either on channel 60, 73, 21/22, or 116/117. If this is the case and it does not work on either one of those channels. Please let me know and I will inform you of the steps for television two.

Thank you again for submitting your question, I hope this information is helpful.

You may have changed the input on the tv. If not it's a problem with the reciver
