I have a PS3 thats hooked up to my flat screen tv with a Monster HDMI cable for HD. Its always worked for me, but just recently my tv quit detecting that its even there. The tvs a samsung and whenever you need to switch over from AV, to TV, to HDMI you press a button called SOURCE and pick whatever youre using. If you have any of them plugged in, the tv will have them in bold letters like HDMI or AV. The tv doesnt register the HDMI anymore. We've tried plugging it in to all 4 HDMI ports and switching around both ends, but nothing seems to work. Does it sound like the HDMI cable is broken or is there something with the tv or the ps3 that needs adjusting? I did just an update on my ps3 for a bluray movie and after watching it thats when it stopped working? Could that have anything to do with it? I'm leaning more towards that the cable is broken because there a 4 very minor dents on the gold metal part of the cable and the golden part is also slightly bent out of place with the black plastic part of the cable. I wouldve never guessed that that would cause the problem because its so incredibly minor. I mean you cant even tell unless you look close, but whatever. I don't know how fragile these stupid cords are so I just thought Id mention it encase any one out there does. Thanks for the feedback.

Replace the cable, but don't get another monster cable unless it's under warranty. They have done extensive tests and there is no difference in video/audio on a tv using a hdmi cable costing $9.99 or a monster cable for $100+...Save yourself some money and be careful when you plug it in.

Replace the HDMI cable as suggested by the other poster. If it still doesn't work, then try the PS3 on another TV if you have one or at a friends. FWIW I had a Samsung TV a few years ago and the HDMI port just quit working for no apparent reason. Good luck

it ought to easily be all on your settings. i had to hook my ps3 up with the factor cables first, so i ought to verify the show then swith it over to 1080p and placed the Hdmi cable in.....they provide you 30 seconds for attempting out connections and all.
