Hi! I just bought this new tv(50", LG, the number on the box is LF6100) and the sound is sorta terrible. Too much bass and treble. I went to the settings page and went on sound, and went on the user specified option, but instead of things like Bass or Treble, I can adjust things in hz. The options are...
100 hz
300 hz
1 khz
3 khz
10 khz

How would I make the bass and treble more? Sorry if I sound like an idiot, I am a complete fool when it comes to things like this... Thank in advance!

Those settings will not really help.

Flat screen televisions have HORRIBLE sound.

Imagine this:

Take an ordinary speaker in your room.

Turn it to face backwards or downwards or to the side.

Then put a large piece of rigid plastic between you and the speaker.

How do you think this will sound compared to the speaker simply facing towards you? Horrible right?

Your HDTV has the speakers on the back, facing up/down/sideways.

This is why your sound is so horrible.

You need to look into a soundbar that is 5.0 or 5.1 (with a small external subwoofer). This will give you a long speaker that faces forward. Even if it is a cheap Vizio or Sony unit - just facing the speakers towards you will be a drastic improvement in sound quality.

Adjusting the Equalizer settings really wont compensate for "Speakers on the back side" problem.

If you want to try: 100 hz is the low frequency/Bass.

300 & 1 khz are probably the treble.

The LG LF6100 is actually a great1080p tv but even the most expensive tv's don't have good sound because they are think....anyone concerned about tv sound should use external speakers... LG since partnering with jbl makes awesome sound bars... $229 for the current model....

If you don't want to spend a ton of money get a pair of Logitech pc speakers for $50 or Bose pc speakers for $99...=both will improve your sound
