I have an older model PS3 that hooks up to an 720p HD tv in my room via component cables, I've never had an HDMI cable for it, but it does work through the component. I got a new Samsung LCD HDTV that does have component connections in the back, so I plugged in the PS3 that way, and I can't get a picture to come up at all. I used an HDMI cable with the PS3 on the new tv and the picture worked. I know the component cables aren't broken and plugged in right because I used them less than a day ago. I made sure the tv was on the component setting too. Is there something wrong with the new tv? Do newer tvs not really support component anymore? If it helps any, it's a Samsung series 550 LCD tv.
