I want to use my LCD TV as monitor, to watch movies and stuff, but I dont have DVI output or HDMI, my Laptop only has S-Video or the Monitor Cable output.

I assume the monitor cable is better... the LCD TV also has one input. (see pic, its the cable i need).

Is this method better than the S-video option no doubt?? I gotta go and get the cable.

DVI or HDMI is the best option.. but since it is not available to you then the VGA monitor cable is the best option... any other method (s-video) or component would result in a fuzzy picture.. .

well something that I do is use my TV screen as a computer monitor. There is a way on newer TVs that have in input that looks like a printer cable that runs from your Computer to your TV and you can just extend you desktop onto the TV screen. A much better investment and you will get a better picture than you would off a computer screen

The monitor cable is called VGA. VGA is analog, BUT, it can handle HD resolutions.

S-video, composite video can only do SD resolutions. I would avoid them if connecting to an HDTV. They are really only decent choices if you're going to a SDTV (like a CRT/tube).

The VGA is perfectly fine if you're going to an HDTV. It will deliver a very good quality HD image.
