From my research the 52" sony tvs look good, but does anyone have personal experience with these tvs. I would prefer the cheaper sonys like the V-series. Also, how does the LG Scarlet compare to this. Also looking at samsung and sharp tvs. Anyone help is welcome
and is 120hz worth it.

If you looking for the best set for gaming, sports, and movies, the top brands would be Sony Bravia XBR, Panasonic Viera, and Pioneer Elite Kuro Plasmas. These would be if you had some dough to throw down. They do offer the 120hz refresh rates that do reduce the motion artifacts and blurs associated with gaming, sports and movie action, especially in larger screens like the 52" you were looking at.

The V-series Sonys are good too. As well as, Samsung and the Sharp Aquos HDTVs. And they are a lot cheaper that the aforementioned brands.

Some other things to look for other than the refresh rate, are the response times and the contrast ratios. Even if you don't get a 120hz set, if your response time is under 6.5 ms, which is average, you're not doing too bad, and will save some money. This will help keep some of the blurs to a minimum, even at a 60hz refresh rate.

LG's? Personally, not a fan. I've had issues with this brand but some other people might give it rave reviews. I guess it's the luck of the draw.

i suggest you take a PLasma TV, and not an LCD. because Plasma TVs can handle fast movements better and have a better naturalistic image. do not go for LCD's. that's my warning to you. if you are looking for a tv above 40", then go for a plasma. any good company like LG or Panasonic will be OK

120Hz is good for gaming, sports, movies.I recommend Samsung LN52A650 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color

lol that game is particularly old. and the television is massive and you have been up close. extra contemporary video games dont look undesirable in any respect. 4 hundred mhz is what im thinking you meant and that's a great for a gaming equipment. additionally led's have been oftentimes occurring for calibration lag. i might purely persist with liquid crystal show television's purely yet once you go with this it sounds useful for my section
