How to connect my Nintendo wii to a flatscreen TV?

I just bought a Toshiba flatscreen LED TV (HD)
Model No. 32SL410U

The TV I have is HD, and the salesperson told me at the store I would need to buy a Component Video Cable so it would work on my wii (which has 5 plugs). There is a top part (back of TV) for red, white, yellow. That part is for my DVD recorder. I need to know how exactly to which plug goes where (the bottom part).

Back of TV:
Y is green, PB is blue, PR is red (Video)
R is red, L is white (Audio)

Component Video Cable (for Wii):
red, white (audio)
red, blue green

I've included photos and video below so you could get a better idea what I'm taking about.

When I followed what the box said with matching colours, there is no sound. How do I connect the cable so there would be sound when I play the wii. Please advise me what plug goes in what spot. It would really help.

Mary, you asked this question earlier and I gave you my answer. But to summarize here ... you can't have your DVD player and Wii connected at the same time. For your TV, audio for the composite input and component input are shared by the same connector. Unplug the red and white from the DVD player and hook up the red and white from the Wii and then try the Wii. I am pretty sure you will then have sound.

I am posting the link to your previous question and my answer for a possible solution to your problem.

I looks like your on the right track.

The wires all go in that group of 6 where you've got them. (no yellow when using component).

ALSO, once you do get working go into the Wii's menu and set your screen to 16:9 and 480p for a DVD quality picture.

EDIT: (after reading the answer below)

I guess I missed that you were trying to plug two things into the same input.

Won't work. I'm guessing that you tried to plug the Wii audio into the ports that are clearly marked "out put"?

I would get a cable like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Component-Video-Stereo-Audio-Cable/dp/B001IUQB2W

And use that on your DVD player. That should give you 480p on your DVD player.

After that, you'll still have one HDMI free for another device (bluray, laptop, cable box).

EDIT 2: Some one has suggest that there is a second input on the side of the TV. If that's the case, buy no more wires and put the DVD player in that.

Plug the red and white audio cables into the ports to the right of the others, not above.

you need to get a Wii, it is an excellent funding. that is largely $250 funds and video games are in reality $50, more low priced than the different equipment. you do not favor infrequently any power to play, notwithstanding, some circulate is needed, searching on the game. i imagine that any one could have the ability to play it although. also, it would not matter what type of T.V. you've, you may play on a T.V. from the 1900's in case you had to. The cords are extremely effortless and difficulty-free to apply. they could plug interior an same as a DVD participant could. All in all, easily get a Wii. the project isn't to get one, yet the thanks to get one. they are very uncommon and complicated to locate. reliable luck!!! P.S. some video games you need to get with constrained circulate are great Mario Galaxy, Legend of Zeda: Twighlight Princess, and great ruin Bros. Brawl (March 9th).

Try switching the blue and red wires.
