In answer to your questions - a normal freeview box won't work with Freesat. A Freesat box connects to your satellite dish in the same way as your current Sky box - no extra cables.

I am not sure about your Sky "new card" business, but you know that Sky do a Freesat card costing just £20 (for those already with Sky Digital equipment).

"Q. I already have Sky digital satellite equipment - what else do I need?

A: All you need to gain access to the free channels available on the digital satellite platform is a Freesat from Sky viewing card, which costs just £20. If you’d like to access the interactive services available, you’ll also need a working phone line. To purchase a viewing card please phone Sky on 08448 244 400."

@ Bob's answer: "Freesat from Sky gives you access to a great choice of over 240 quality digital TV channels, including terrestrial channels like BBC1, ITV and More4 and Sky3 – that’s four times more than Freeview TV. And with channels ranging from entertainment to sport and music, including shows like Cold Case and Shear Genius, there’s something for everyone to enjoy."

All you should need is a freesat box. Freeview boxes wont work.

The £20 card is a waste of money. All it gives you are Fiver, Five USA and Sky Three.

@Roy: You are throwing in a Red Herring. All the other channels are Free-To-Air (FTA) and do not need a card to receive them. Even those that arent currently carried on the Freesat EPG should be tunable on a good DSat box in the same way you can tune channels that arent on the Sky EPG.

That said, most of the 16000000000 free channels Sky boast are on "Free"sat from Sky are shopping, gambling, pay £1.50per min to talk to scantily clad women and religious preaching channels

Sky Three, Fiver and Five USA are Free To View (FTV). Although you don't need a subscription to receive them on DSat, they are encrypted and therefore you do need a Sky box and a Sky card.

However, in my opinion, they are hardly worth a £20 card -especially when Fiver and Five USA are expected to become FTA and join BBC/ITV/C4 Freesat in the very near future. The future of Sky Three - a channel created specifically as a teaser to tempt Freeview users into subscribing has had a huge question mark over it for a couple of years, as Sky have stated an intention to pull its channels from Freeview.

No, considering which you like an ariel to p.c.. up freeview no longer a dish. I constantly concept that the sky container woul d double as a freeview container besides, considering which you will nonetheless be waiting to view the loose channels from it, if the bill grow to be unpaid?

you can use the cable dish and LNB,

all you need is the free sat box, and they will help you set it up
