My plasma panel (not tv) is about 3 yrs old and recently the picture started to roll and flicker and a dark area rolls down the screen, this might occur for about an hour and then for the rest of the day it is fine. the panel has one input video component which carries the signal from a Cambridge audio AV receiver. The problem occurs from all sources ie. Sky, DVD, PS2.
I have bypassed the AV receiver so the source is connected directly to the panel and the problem is still there.
I also have a 15" Samsung LCD TV which i brought down to try when the plasma went wrong to enable me to eliminate the panel but everytime the 15" is plugged in near the plasma, the problem doesn't occur. The 15" has been plugged in near the plasma for 4 weeks with no equiptment attached and the panel has been fine, i took the 15" back upstairs last night and the plasma went screwy again today until i brought the 15" back down and now its ok again, i dont know if this is significant or just coincidence, help

Are both of these TVs hooked up to the same AV reciever?

Sounds like you either have a bad cord/cable some where.

The rolling is related to the TV losing vertical sync.

Use a 75 ohm cable to the source to see if this happens.

Usually TV like this brand should be able to resolve any weak signals.

There appears to be some kind of EMI from your Samsung TV to eliminate the sync problem.

Sometimes it could be grounding issue.

Have you tried the tuner to see if it occurs?

Might be electrical interference with the extra load from the other TV suppressing it. For my Panasonic Plasma TV, it is recommended that the mains supply lead is kept well away from the signal leads.

till you're making plans on naming your infant Plasma television, i recommend you positioned up this interior the suitable section. FYI, older plasma tvs basically have a existence span as much as 5 years. So there could be not something you're able to do.
