Why does my TV switch off every time one particular programme comes on??

I have a panasonic 'quintrix' 32" widescreen TV. It's quite old and very bulky and heavy. When I have it on ITV (through a virgin media cable connection) and the national news and weather has finished and the regional news 'Scotland Today' comes on, it switches off and goes into standby. I can switch it back on, but if Scotland Today is still on, it switches off again. If I change channel it will be fine. Also, it never switches off when I watch any other programme whatsoever. Anybody know why??

Now THAT is Freaking WEIRD !!

And I have no answer for you about your problem.

But it might be that the failure is caused by a difference in the SIGNAL sent out by "Scotland Today".

I find that unlikely, but you can't close your mind to the possibility.....

There must be something about the signal that's carried with that particular programme that it doesn't like. TV programmes carry Teletext, EPG programme info, PDC signal for a video recorder and the "press red" logo with it. It's probably a combination of these with that particular programme that it doesn't like for some reason. You get Scart control that switches the TV over to the AV channel when you switch on your cable box or DVD player, but that only usually changes the TV to AV - not switch it to standby. Very strange.

at first: by no potential use the enormous caulking weapons once you're filling your cracks. and regardless of the smaller caulks, practice mushy stable stress as detrimental to in basic terms jamming them in. you will locate this lots greater pleasing and could keep you warmer for lots longer volume of time. do no longer problem approximately extra caulk. there is not any such element. purely verify that your cracks have been completely crammed and sealed good. in case you have a huge crack of direction you will want greater caulk to fill it. Small cracks require much less caulk. you be attentive to your crack greater efficient than everyone else. You be the choose. as quickly as you're finished, sit down decrease back and luxuriate in a solid smoke or some cheetos. Filling cracks is stressful artwork, do no longer take it gently. Be extreme and get the interest achieved top the 1st time. If in case you don't get the crack crammed top the 1st time, purely wipe off the caulk and fill up. undergo in ideas, caulk is low-value and additionally you would be able to by no potential have too lots caulk :) keep a stiff top lip, i'm specific which you will beat this element! lots success, undergo in ideas, keep doing it till you're happy with it. whilst caulk gets old, it is going to grow to be much less inflexible and comfortable to touch and it will by no potential get stressful back, so this could be a great time to swap caulk.
