We bought a fire stick and we "Jail broken" it with the Kodi Pulse build. We get to watch all TV shows and unlimited movies. My question is why dont the live TV feature work? They persuade you into cutting you cable but you cant watch live TV on the fire stick. Whats the point

The point is you didn't read, or didn't understand, how KODI works.

KODI is NOT a replacement for your cable box or satellite receiver. It is simply a platform for STREAMING APPS.

I suggest you get out of Kodi and install a separate app for live stuff. It works OK for the most part. It won't do HD but it is livable. It will also sometimes want to buffer or get stuck. You thought cutting the cord would have the same performance as a paid cable box?

That is from my experience and my internet service. I don't need to jailbreak anything to get Kodi or other apps on the stick. Do a search on YT and you will find it. Kodi works well for movies but live it was terrible. I also tried some builds in the past and hated it. Too much crap you don't need. Also movies apps outside Kodi perform well but not as much selection. You need to learn how to do addons and apk's then you'll see how good the Firestick is. If you want everything handed to you then that is your problem.

I can't believe people spend upwards of $150 on kodi installed FireSticks. It's really so easy to do. Anyway as said before can become crippled once the addon stops working. Best to use straight up Kodi with a few addons. Google is your best friend.

Sigh

Don't use builds! They're filled with crap you'll never use and then they start to break, once one addon breaks, it creates a domino effect and more break, it then becomes extremely difficult to maintain.

Your best option is to wipe Kodi and start fresh, do some Googling to find the addons you need (I can't mention them here) and only install the ones you need. There are plenty of addons specifically for movies, TV shows and live TV. If you really want to "cut cable" then you'll need to learn how to install addons yourself
