Vizio is budget brand TV .

Vizio is USA local trademark . TV supply VIA Taiwan Antrans, designs / manufactures by China Amtrans and some other China TV maker.

Vizio TV simply " NOT BAD ", value for you $ , you paid for what you get.

Vizio TV is " not really that good " , except prices, if not consumer will never paid much more for Samsung / LG / Sony / Sharp / Panasonic.

remember , Vizio brand only available in USA / CANADA. Samsung / LG / Sony / Sharp / Panasonic sold worldwide more than 160 countries under OWN BRAND. there must be reason.

i believe you just need an " colour LCD TV in reasonable prices " . Vizio suited you for sure !!

usually those consumer thinking for VIZIO will never concerned other issue - total quality - reliability .because the PRICES cover every things, because is ' cheap ", as this moment, use it for 3 years and change to another new TV - what is so important about about reliable ?

Enjoy it with Vizio !

Vizio does not make their own televisions but buy parts from the Panasonic, Sony and Pioneer factories, ship them to LA where they are assembled and sent to discount stores and big-box warehouses.

There is no way to repair them as they are made with parts that change all the time so they do not bother stocking parts or making them available to service people.

They are in the "if it breaks - buy a new one" category.

They do tend to work, but a few times per year they go through a rash of dying on people within the first few weeks of going home. It's a crap-shoot if you get a good one or a bad one.

I would rate them better than the other bottom feeders like Dynex, Coby, Rokyo, Emmerson, Insignia, Westinghouse, but they are no where near the quality or reliability of Sony, Samsung, Sharp.

Dude, dont buy a tv from Walmart. 37" for 378... ha ha. Visio is what you would call the dollar store brand of tv's, same with Insignia. If it works for you, great, but dont brag to your friends about it. My Samsung 40" cost me $700 on staff discount, you should expect to pay the same for a middle of the road 37". When I was tv shopping I saw walmart advertising "LOOK AT THE GREAT HD PICTURE" I look behind to see they are using the same wiring system they were using 20 years ago... NOT HD. Samsung, toshiba, LG, Sony and what you should be looking for...

I wouldn't have a problem with your proposed purchase, for two reasons. One, the comments you see about Vizio being a low-end brand are obsolete. Vizio sets were very unreliable in past years, but they've gotten better. The set I bought 7 months ago is as good as anything in its class--I'd buy it again. A few Vizio sets are starting to show up among the top-ten lists from the likes of Consumer Reports, etc.

True, the Vizio brand in general terms is not up to the quality of the top line makes, but you can certainly expect an individual set to be as good as anything, as in my case.

And two, Walmart has a generous 30-day return policy--exchange or refund, no questions asked. I'd want to aggressively run the set every day for 29 days, making sure that (a) nothing fails on it, and (b) I like its performance. If no to either of those, back it goes for a refund or exchange. Be sure to save your receipt and all the packaging materials.
