If snow settles on your satellite dish, does this affect reception? Will it continue to work in storm like conditions (presuming you maintain power)?

It is best to keep it brushed off, as your satellite dish works by reflecting and focusing the signal into the antenna that sticks out the front.
Your signal will be affected by anything that gets in the way of that signal, including things on the dish, and precipitation conditions like cloud cover.

The dish's reception may be degraded if you allow snow to pile up on it to a depth of several inches. Get a long-handled broom and carefully brush the snow off

Nope. Your satellite dish should go in and out until its completely searching for satellite signal. That's the main reason people use cable.

No it won`t work. Any type of heavy precipitation will cause the dish to go off.

I find fog and mist mess up mine, its due to large amount of clouds usually, so it could well be due to a lot of snow clouds.
